Long Gun #021: U.S. Model 1803 Flintlock Rifle, later production, made by Harper's Ferry Arsenal in 1816. Barrel shortened, bored out to smoothbore .60 cal., and converted to percussion. Shows long hard service over many years. H.B. Goode is inscribed on the inside lid of the patchbox. Henry B. Goode from Florida fought in the Seminole Wars and with the Florida Infantry during the War Between the States. This old gun surfaced in Florida a few years back.
